Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced System Engineer with a strong background in automotive product development, specifically in lighting systems.
YOUR MISSION:
- Lead and support system engineering activities across the development lifecycle for front and rear lighting modules.
- Manage RFQ processes with automotive OEMs, including requirements analysis, technical clarifications, and preparation of technical responses.
- Develop and maintain system architectures, system specifications, and interface definitions.
- Collaborate with mechanical, electronics, optical, software, and validation teams to ensure coherent system integration.
- Perform requirements engineering to capture, refine, validate, and track requirements using Polarion or similar tools (e.g., Doors, Codebeamer).
- Participate in design reviews, technical workshops, and customer meetings.
- Ensure compliance with relevant automotive standards and best practices.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- University Degree in computer science, Electrical/Electronics, mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in automotive system engineering, ideally in lighting systems (rear lamps, front lamps, light modules, smart lighting).
- Solid experience in RFQ and customer/OEM management, including technical negotiation and documentation.
- Strong knowledge of system architecture design and system decomposition.
- Experience with automotive development frameworks (ASPICE, V-model, ISO26262).
- Hands-on experience with requirement management tools such as Polarion, Doors, or Codebeamer.
- Experience with CAN/LIN communication, lighting control units, or embedded systems is a plus.
- Proactive, organized, and able to manage priorities in complex environments.
- Ability to interface with customers and internal experts confidently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Fluent in English, knowledge of French/German is a strong plus.
