About the Role
As a Manager (Japan Practice), you will lead end-to-end consulting and advisory projects for Japanese corporates, trading houses, government bodies, and public organizations operating in or entering the Indian market.
In response to increasing project volumes and the continued growth of our Japan Practice, we are seeking experienced Japanese professionals capable of managing client engagements, leading multicultural teams, and driving impactful business results.
This role offers an opportunity to take on a leadership position in cross-border consulting, contribute to YCP Auctus' expansion in India, and create tangible value for Japanese clients across multiple industries.
Key Responsibilities & Project Examples
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage consulting engagements for Japanese and multinational clients—from proposal development to project execution and delivery.
- Develop and present business strategies, market entry plans, operational improvement frameworks, and financial models.
- Act as the key liaison between Japanese clients and Indian consulting teams, ensuring smooth cross-cultural collaboration.
- Supervise and mentor Associate Consultants and Analysts to ensure structured problem-solving and high-quality output.
- Guide research, analysis, and modeling performed by junior team members.
- Oversee project economics, delivery timelines, and client satisfaction metrics.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with Japanese clients and support proposal development.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, training, and organizational capability building.
Sample Project Areas:
- Market entry and growth strategy for Japanese manufacturers and trading houses expanding into India.
- JV partner identification, negotiation support, and M&A due diligence.
- Policy and regulatory analysis across energy, infrastructure, and digital sectors.
- PMO setup and execution support for large-scale transformation initiatives.
- Cross-border strategy projects spanning India, Southeast Asia, and Japan.
Candidate Profile
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or higher (any discipline).
- Native-level Japanese proficiency and strong command of business English.
- 5–8 years of professional experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or project management.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage end-to-end consulting engagements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and structured thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities in English and Japanese.
- High ownership, entrepreneurial mindset, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong client orientation and ability to build trusted relationships with senior executives.
Preferred:
- MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification from a top-tier institution.
- Prior experience working with Japanese corporate clients or cross-border project environments.
- Sector expertise in areas such as energy, manufacturing, digital, or infrastructure.
- Familiarity with financial modeling, valuation, and business planning frameworks.
Employment Details
Employment Type: Full-time employee (6-month probation period)
Work Location: India - Delhi NCR (Gurgaon)/Bangalore/Mumbai (final location to be determined with the selected candidate)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM IST (with flexibility as required)
Compensation: Annual salary commensurate with experience and skill level; annual performance bonus (once per year)
