Regional Vice President of Operations (Behavioral Health)
Location: Ohio (Travel required across 4 facilities)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Compensation: $150,000- $200,000 + Bonus (KPI-Driven) + Full Benefits
About the Role
Lead operations across a full continuum behavioral health platform—driving impact from inpatient psychiatry to outpatient care across multiple high-performing Ohio facilities.
We are seeking a seasoned Regional Vice President of Operations to oversee four behavioral health facilities across Ohio. These programs operate across the full continuum of care, including inpatient psychiatry, detox/residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient services. This leader will be responsible for driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and financial performance across all sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational oversight for 4 facilities, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and high-quality patient care across all levels of care (IP, detox/res, PHP, IOP, OP).
- Lead and develop facility leadership teams, including Executive Directors, Clinical Directors, and department heads.
- Drive financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and optimizing census and revenue across all programs.
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and accrediting bodies (Joint Commission/CARF as applicable).
- Oversee Medicaid and Medicare billing practices, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and maximization of allowable reimbursement.
- Monitor and improve KPIs, including census, LOS, staff retention, patient outcomes, and operational margins.
- Standardize systems and SOPs across facilities to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Partner with clinical leadership to ensure best-in-class care delivery across psychiatric and SUD services.
- Support growth initiatives, including program expansion, service line development, and community partnerships.
Requirements
- 7+ years of leadership experience in behavioral health operations (multi-site strongly preferred).
- Direct experience operating psychiatric hospitals REQUIRED.
- Experience overseeing SUD programs (detox/residential/PHP/IOP) is a strong plus.
- Strong understanding of Medicaid and Medicare billing, reimbursement, and allowables.
- Proven track record of driving KPIs, census growth, and operational performance.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and accreditation standards (Joint Commission, CARF, state licensing).
- Ability to manage and lead multi-site teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Licensed clinician (LCSW, LPCC, etc.) is a plus but not required.
- Must be based in Ohio and willing to travel between facilities.
