A growing behavioral health organization is seeking an experienced Behavioral Health Hospital Administrator to oversee operations for a newly redeveloped inpatient psychiatric hospital in the Greater Cleveland area.

This facility will initially focus on high-acuity inpatient psychiatric care, with long-term plans to expand into additional behavioral health services and levels of care in the future. The organization is seeking a proven operational leader with strong psychiatric hospital experience who can help build a stable, compliant, patient-focused program while assisting in the future growth and expansion of the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of a high-acuity inpatient psychiatric hospital
  • Lead operational strategy, staffing, compliance, and patient census initiatives
  • Ensure facility readiness and compliance with Joint Commission standards, state licensure requirements, and behavioral health regulations
  • Partner with clinical leadership to maintain high standards of patient care, safety, and operational efficiency
  • Drive employee engagement, retention, and leadership development across departments
  • Oversee operational budgets, KPIs, staffing models, and hospital performance metrics
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on future expansion plans, additional service lines, and long-term hospital growth initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with referral sources, hospitals, and community stakeholders

Requirements

  • 5+ years of leadership experience within inpatient psychiatric hospital operations
  • Current or recent experience as a Behavioral Health Administrator, Executive Director, Director of Operations, or similar leadership role within acute psychiatric care strongly preferred
  • Experience overseeing high-acuity inpatient psychiatric services required
  • Strong knowledge of Joint Commission standards, behavioral health regulations, and state licensing requirements
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and hospital operations
  • Experience with hospital startup, expansion, turnaround, or program development highly preferred
  • Knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare and behavioral health reimbursement structures preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
