The Role
We are seeking a practical and data-oriented Game Economy Manager to architect and refine the economic ecosystems of our mobile titles. In this position, you will own the strategy behind player progression and resource management, ensuring a healthy balance between monetization targets and a rewarding user experience. You will collaborate seamlessly with Game Design, Product, and Data teams to evolve the economy based on real-world metrics and business objectives.
What You Will Do
- Architect and manage the complete economic framework, defining currency flows (sinks and sources), item pricing, reward structures, and leveling curves.
- Monitor game health by analyzing player activity and economic metrics to detect inflation, bottlenecks, or missed opportunities.
- Refine the economy to enhance Lifetime Value (LTV) and retention, ensuring the game remains fair and entertaining while meeting financial goals.
- Partner with Game Designers to ensure economic systems support and integrate smoothly with core gameplay mechanics.
- Design and iterate on monetization features, including In-App Purchases (IAP), ad integrations, special offers, and store bundles.
- Lead the economic strategy for LiveOps, configuring rewards and balances for seasonal events, tournaments, and limited-time promotions.
- Collaborate with the Analytics team to establish, monitor, and report on critical KPIs related to game economy and revenue.
- Design and execute A/B tests to validate hypotheses and measure the impact of economic changes.
Essentials
- Minimum of 3-4 years of experience specifically in game economy design or management for mobile titles.
- Deep expertise in Free-to-Play (F2P) models, covering virtual currencies, progression systems, and monetization logic.
- Proven ability to use analytics tools and data platforms to interpret player behavior and economic performance.
- Strong command of A/B testing methodologies and a reliance on data for decision-making.
- Prior experience managing economies within a LiveOps environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex mathematical concepts for non-technical team members.
