The Role

As the Data Engineering Manager, you will be a hands-on leader responsible for scaling our data infrastructure and leading a team of specialized engineers. You will own the entire BI stack, ensuring the reliability of our data pipelines while bridging the gap between technical complexity and business growth. Your work will directly empower our teams to make data-driven decisions that shape the future of our most successful titles.

Description

  • Design and implement complex dimensional data models and robust ETL/ELT pipelines using modern orchestration tools.
  • Oversee data pipeline reliability by establishing comprehensive monitoring, alerting systems, and strict SLAs.
  • Define and enforce engineering workflows including version control, CI/CD processes, and rigorous code review standards.
  • Drive team execution by prioritizing the product backlog and ensuring all milestones are met within a fast-paced sprint cadence.
  • Establish data quality frameworks and governance practices to ensure high standards for testing and data lineage.
  • Optimize the performance of data models and reporting extracts to balance real-time freshness with operational costs.
  • Develop and maintain core dashboards and reporting layers to provide actionable insights for cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years in a leadership role managing data or BI engineering teams with a focus on technical mentorship.
  • Over 5 years of professional experience in data engineering or BI with a deep understanding of data architecture.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with dbt for scalable data modeling.
  • Proven experience working with cloud-based data warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift.
  • Practical experience in building and maintaining sophisticated visualization layers in Tableau.
  • Strong background in software engineering best practices including Git, documentation, and automated deployments.
  • Experience integrating machine learning models or building internal APIs for data consumption - advantage.
  • Previous experience within the gaming industry or high-velocity consumer technology sectors - advantage.
