Position Summary
The Network Engineer will assist with the implementation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of enterprise network infrastructure across multiple properties. This role will work with technologies including Cisco, Palo Alto, Meraki, Aruba, and related network systems.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. This person should be able to follow established policies and procedures, communicate clearly, document work accurately, and remain composed when handling high-pressure technical issues.
Key Responsibilities
Network Support, Maintenance, and Implementation
- Assist with the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of secure, reliable, and scalable network solutions across company properties.
- Configure, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, VPNs, and related systems.
- Support LAN, WAN, wireless, firewall, and VPN environments using Cisco, Palo Alto, Meraki, Aruba, and similar technologies.
- Assist with routing and switching configurations, including VLANs, STP, VRRP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and related protocols.
- Support scheduled maintenance, network upgrades, equipment refreshes, and infrastructure deployments.
Troubleshooting and Operations
- Monitor network performance and proactively identify issues that may impact availability, reliability, or security. Troubleshoot Layer 1, Layer 2, and Layer 3 network issues in a structured and methodical manner.
- Perform root cause analysis and assist with resolving routing, switching, firewall, wireless, VPN, and connectivity issues.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 network support to internal teams, clients, and business stakeholders.
- Escalate issues appropriately and communicate status updates clearly during incidents or service-impacting events.
Security, Compliance, and Change Management
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of firewalls, VPNs, ACLs, NAT, syslog, and other network security controls.
- Support network security best practices and participate in audits, reviews, and assessments as needed.
- Follow established change management procedures for network changes, firewall updates, maintenance windows, and infrastructure deployments.
- Ensure network changes are properly tested, documented, communicated, and approved before implementation.
Documentation and Process
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including diagrams, IP address assignments, firewall rules, circuit information, device inventory, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
- Document troubleshooting steps, root cause findings, changes performed, and resolution details.
- Follow internal policies, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency, reliability, and accountability.
- Contribute to process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce risk, and improve network support.
Team Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with IT teams to ensure seamless integration and support of network infrastructure.
- Share knowledge with junior team members and provide technical guidance when appropriate.
- Communicate with users and provide customer support while resolving network issues.
- Participate in project planning, implementation meetings, and post-change reviews as needed.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field, orequivalent level experience
Required Experience
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering, network administration, or network technician roles within an enterprise environment.
- Experience supporting Cisco networking equipment and enterprise firewall technologies.
- Experience supporting or maintaining Palo Alto firewalls, Panorama, Cisco ASA, Meraki, Aruba, or similar platforms.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, firewall, and network connectivity issues.
- Experience supporting Tier 2 and Tier 3 network issues in an enterprise or multi-site environment.
- Experience following change management, incident management, and problem management processes.
- Experience maintaining network documentation, diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of routing, switching, LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, firewall, and network security concepts.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SFTP, IP addressing, NAT, ACLs,
- RADIUS, IKE, QoS, and related networking concepts.
- Working knowledge of VPN technologies, including Global Protect or similar remote access solutions.
- Experience with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VRFs, STP, VLANs, and high-availability network designs.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and network automation.
- Basic knowledge of AWS and Azure cloud networking concepts.

Ability to perform physical installation work, including racking equipment, cabling, and working in network closets or data rooms.
Preferred Certifications
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Professional, Palo Alto Networks Certified
- Next-Generation Firewall Engineer, or equivalent Palo Alto firewall experience.
