We are seeking an experienced Deputy Head of Information Technology to support the Head of IT in leading the organizations IT strategy, operations, and digital transformation initiatives. This role plays a critical leadership position in ensuring the efficiency of IT operations, overseeing major technology projects, and aligning IT capabilities with business goals.

What You'll Do

  • Assist the Head of IT in defining and executing the organisations IT strategy, roadmap, and performance objectives
  • Support IT financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost optimisation initiatives
  • Drive technology innovation to improve operational efficiency and enhance customer experience
  • Ensure the stability, scalability, and performance of enterprise systems and network infrastructure
  • Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives, including automation and system upgrades
  • Strengthen organisational resilience by overseeing Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) initiatives
  • Monitor and report critical technology incidents to senior management and provide recommendations for resolution
  • Develop and implement cloud strategies including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS adoption and cloud migration initiatives
  • Manage hybrid and multi-cloud environments while ensuring security, performance, and compliance
  • Enforce IT governance frameworks, policies, and regulatory compliance standards
  • Collaborate with security teams to strengthen cybersecurity posture and monitor IT risk management processes
  • Oversee IT projects through the PMO to ensure timely delivery and alignment with business priorities
  • Manage vendor relationships, technology procurement, and contract negotiations
  • Evaluate emerging technologies for adoption and enterprise integration
  • Mentor and guide IT teams, promoting innovation, accountability, and professional development
  • Support workforce planning and skill development across infrastructure, networking, cloud, security, and DevOps teams
  • Work with development teams to design and implement systems that improve operational efficiency and customer experience
  • Deliver executive-level MIS reports and presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Represent the IT department and deputise for the Head of IT in board meetings, IT committees, and leadership discussions

What You Bring

Must-have:

  • Degree or Masters in Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum 10 years of managerial experience in IT leadership roles
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience managing end-to-end IT systems operations
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, DevOps practices, and cloud technologies
  • Experience in IT financial planning, budgeting, and cost-benefit analysis
  • Proven ability to prepare executive-level MIS reports and presentations for senior management and C-suite stakeholders
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear insights for non-technical stakeholders

Nice-to-have:

  • Broad knowledge across systems development lifecycle, IT project management, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and IT governance
  • Experience establishing IT governance frameworks, policies, and procedures
  • Knowledge of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DR)
  • Certifications or exposure to ISO27001 / ISO27003, ITIL, COBIT, or other governance standards
