Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Federal Inventory & Logistics Analyst to support federal audit readiness and inventory management operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Management Systems, similar to Navy ERP, and SAP inventory platforms. This role serves as a critical link between logistics operations and financial audit requirements, ensuring inventory accountability and compliance across DoD supply chain environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support financial audit initiatives by conducting testing of inventory assets at DLA Distribution Centers and other federal facilities
- Perform inventory management functions using Warehouse Management System (WMS), Navy ERP, and SAP inventory modules, ensuring accurate recording and reporting of assets
- Conduct physical inventory counts, reconciliations, and variance analyses to support audit sample requests from the DoD Inspector General (IG) or external auditors
- Develop and maintain inventory audit documentation including standard operating procedures (SOPs), process narratives, and internal control matrices
- Collaborate with client personnel, contracting officers, and financial management teams to resolve audit findings and support sustainable audit outcomes
- Monitor and track inventory transactions within SAP and Navy ERP to identify discrepancies, unauthorized adjustments, or control weaknesses
- Provide technical and analytical support during audit walkthroughs, interim testing, and year-end audit cycles
- Brief leadership on audit status, open findings, and risk areas related to inventory accountability
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in DoD audit support, inventory management, or defense logistics
- Demonstrated experience with DoD Warehouse Management System (WMS)
- Hands-on experience with inventory management in a federal or non-federal environment
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Navy ERP logistics and supply chain modules
- Knowledge of GAGAS, FISCAM, or other federal audit standards
- Experience supporting FIAR (Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness) initiatives
Work Environment
This position may require work onsite at DLA Distribution Centers or other DoD installations. Travel up to 25% may be required based on audit schedules and site visit requirements.
