Helion Helicopters, a joint venture between SAF Aerogroup and Airtelis, is a trusted European operator delivering high-intensity helicopter missions including aerial firefighting, heavy-lift, and infrastructure support. As our operations grow, we are looking for an engaged and safety-conscious Category A Licensed Mechanic (M/F/X) to help maintain our Airbus H215 fleet to the highest operational and technical standards.

Reports to: Chief Engineer
About the Role
As a Category A Mechanic, you will support routine helicopter maintenance and help ensure rapid turnaround during firefighting and utility missions. This is an ideal opportunity to grow your hands-on experience in rotary-wing maintenance while contributing directly to safety-critical aviation operations. You will work closely with licensed engineers on scheduled maintenance, inspections, and defect rectification tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic scheduled maintenance, visual inspections, lubrication, and replenishment tasks
- Assist with non-complex defect rectification and removal/installation of aircraft components
- Work under the guidance of B1.3/B2 Licensed Engineers
- Use AMM and follow internal technical procedures and job cards
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of maintenance work performed
- Maintain workshop cleanliness, tool control, and safety of equipment
- Participate in off-base operations or AOG support during firefighting season
QSE (Quality, Safety, Environment) Responsibilities
- Apply health & safety instructions and wear appropriate PPE at all times
- Follow environmental protection measures (waste segregation, spill control, etc.)
- Report any safety risks, incidents, or non-conformities
- Participate in safety briefings and QSE improvement initiatives
- Actively support the companys commitment to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards
Your Profile
- EASA Part-66 Category A license (or eligibility to obtain it)
- Previous experience in aircraft maintenance (rotary-wing preferred)
- Knowledge of basic maintenance procedures under EASA Part-145
- Good understanding of aircraft documentation and maintenance standards
- Proficient in English (written and spoken); Greek or French is a plus
- Flexible to work in shifts, outdoors, and travel to field bases during mission seasons
- Strong teamwork ethic and motivation to grow in a technical aviation environment
