About the job Chief Training Captain – H215 Fleet – Firefighting Operations (M/F/X)
Helion Helicopters is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Chief Training Captain to lead and standardize all flight training activities related to our Airbus H215 fleet dedicated to aerial firefighting operations.
Reporting directly to the Accountable Manager, you will play a strategic leadership role in ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, instructor standardization, and the highest levels of flight safety.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a growing international aviation group operating complex and mission-critical helicopter operations across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Flight Training Leadership
- Lead, develop, and manage H215 flight training programs in compliance with EASA regulations and company standards
- Supervise and standardize instructor and Training Captain activities
- Ensure recurrent training, instructor qualifications, and operational readiness
- Monitor training quality, performance, and effectiveness
Operational & Safety Oversight
- Ensure all training operations comply with approved SOPs, operational manuals, and safety requirements
- Evaluate and mitigate operational risks associated with training missions
- Promote a proactive safety culture and oversee incident reporting and follow-up actions
- Coordinate with Flight Operations, Engineering, Ground Training, and Planning departments
Regulatory Compliance
- Maintain compliance with EASA regulations including Part-FCL, Part-ORO, and Part-ORA
- Liaise with Civil Aviation Authorities and external training organizations
- Support audits, approvals, and regulatory inspections
QSE / SHE Responsibilities
- Integrate Quality, Safety, and Environmental standards into all training activities
- Ensure adherence to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 principles
- Promote environmental awareness and resource-efficient operational practices
- Participate in QSE initiatives, audits, and continuous improvement actions
Team Management
- Lead and mentor instructors and training personnel
- Conduct performance evaluations and define development objectives
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and qualification of training staff
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance, and safety-oriented culture
Candidate Profile
Mandatory Requirements
- H215 SP VFR and MP IR rated
- Minimum 500 hours on H215 Type
- Valid CPL(H) license, ATPL(H) frozen,
- TRI/TRE
- MCC
- HESLO 2
- HEC 2
- English Level 5
- Extensive helicopter operational and instructional experience
- Proven experience managing flight training programs and instructor teams
- Strong knowledge of EASA regulations (Part-FCL, Part-ORO, Part-ORA)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous firefighting or aerial mission operational experience
- Knowledge of QSE management systems
- Greek or French language skills considered an asset
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to operate effectively under pressure and in high-responsibility environments
