VACANCY: AVIATION HEALTH CARE PROVIDER (FLIGHT PHYSICIAN)

REPORTING TO: Medical Operations Manager & Medical Director
LOCATION: Kinshasa, DRC (Africa)
CONTRACT TYPE: Short-term Contract (1 x 6 week tour or 2 x 4 week tours)

DURATION: July - September 2026

Starlite Aviation Group has a requirement for a strong and experienced Flight Physician to support aeromedical operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Flight Physician will provide advanced pre-hospital and in-flight critical care support during aeromedical evacuations and aviation operations. The role requires strong clinical competence in emergency and critical care medicine, combined with prior aviation medicine experience in rotor and/or fixed-wing environments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

Appropriate medical registration in country of origin (EU, UK, USA, RSA, Australia or New Zealand)
Valid AHA BLS and ACLS certification
Valid ITLS or PHTLS certification
Minimum 5 years post-graduation clinical experience in:
Emergency Medicine and/or Critical Care
Minimum 2 years aviation medical experience in:
Rotor wing and/or fixed wing aeromedical operations

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS
Aviation for Healthcare Providers (AHCP) or internationally recognised equivalent
Previous anaesthetics training and experience
Recent or current exposure to courses such as:
EMOVA
DAMIT
Or internationally accepted equivalent aeromedical/critical care courses

Ability to operate effectively in austere and remote environments
Strong decision-making under pressure
Excellent teamwork within multidisciplinary aeromedical crews
High clinical governance and patient safety standards
Adaptability to aviation operational requirements
