Heavy Equipment Technician / Superintendent - Lae

Cakum Global is looking for a Heavy Equipment Technician / Superintendent to join our clients Lae Workshop team in PNG.

Our client operates one of the busiest port and transport facilities in PNG keeping critical logistics and supply chain operations moving efficiently. The Heavy Equipment Technician plays a key part in maintaining fleet reliability and safety across port machinery and heavy vehicles.

Youll be:
- Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy equipment (Reach Stackers, Forklifts, Generators)
- Performing scheduled maintenance and preventative servicing
- Supervising workshop staff and coordinating repair activities
- Managing service records and ensuring workshop efficiency
- Occasionally traveling to remote sites for on-field repairs

The ideal person for this role has:
⭐ A Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering
⭐ 5+ years experience in heavy equipment, transport, or freight operations
⭐ Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and diagnostic skills
⭐ Excellent planning, communication, and leadership abilities
⭐ A solid safety focus and hands-on technical expertise
