Facilities Manager
We are seeking a highly proactive, hands-on Facilities Manager to own the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Castelion's facilities. This role is critical to enabling safe, reliable, and scalable operations across engineering, manufacturing, and office environments. You will serve as the primary owner of facilities performance - balancing immediate operational needs with longer-term planning as the company rapidly grows.

Responsibilities
- Own all facilities operations across assigned sites, serving as the primary point of contact for facilities-related needs, issues, and improvements
- Manage and prioritize work orders, ensuring timely resolution of maintenance, repair, and operational issues
- Oversee building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, janitorial, security, fire protection, and office/industrial equipment
- Source, manage, and hold accountable external vendors and service providers for quality, cost, and schedule
- Develop and maintain preventative maintenance plans, service schedules, and facility documentation
- Ensure facilities comply with applicable safety, health, environmental, and building regulations
- Partner with EHS, operations, and leadership to support safety inspections, audits, and corrective actions
- Lead space planning efforts, office and lab moves, furniture layouts, and site expansions
- Manage facilities-related purchasing, inventory, and budget tracking
- Support emergency preparedness planning and incident response (fire drills, power outages, equipment failures)
- Drive continuous improvement in facilities processes, responsiveness, and reliability as the company scales
- Support special projects related to new site buildouts, expansions, or production ramp
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associates or bachelors degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience in facilities management, building operations, or related roles
- Strong working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety)
- Experience managing vendors, contracts, and service providers
- Proven ability to operate independently with high ownership and accountability
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to support off-hours or weekend work during critical operations or emergencies
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving environments with shifting priorities
- Bias to action, attention to detail, and commitment to building high-quality, reliable workspaces
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with CMMS or facilities management software preferred
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, or industrial facilities
- Familiarity with safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance in technical or production environments
- Experience scaling facilities for a rapidly growing company or startup
- Budget ownership or cost-tracking responsibility
- Hands-on background with light maintenance, troubleshooting, or facilities projects
