Lead Physical Security Specialist
Castelion Corporation is looking for an experienced Physical Security Specialist to Lead our Physical Security department out of our Torrance location. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated security professional with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
The Lead Security Specialist provides the critical first impression of the organization and its security requirements for employees, customers, vendors, and guests at each of its facilities. They are responsible for manning the front lobby, ensuring visitors are appropriately checked-in, and monitoring the entry point as the first line of defense. Castelion leadership depends on the professionalism and character of our Security Specialists to welcome, assist, and act as a comprehensive source of Castelion information, while ensuring the safety and security of its facilities and operations overall.
The Lead Security Specialist will report to the Director of Security and be responsible for the operation and management of the Physical Security systems and processes across all Castelion locations.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for tracking special events and visits
- Provide high quality customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors
- Interface with high-level internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure thorough knowledge and effective implementation of all access control, escort, and tour protocols and procedures for employees, customers, vendors, and guests at Castelion facilities
- Coordinate with Security and Castelion Leadership as necessary to:
- Initiate timely and effective notifications and response measures for incidents or emergencies
- Assist emergency response personnel dispatched to a Castelion site
- Monitor site surveillance camera system
- Prepare clear and concise written incident reports
- Report maintenance, facility, and technology issues and alarms
- Build collaborative working relationships with other Castelion departments or teams (including, but not limited to, facilities, human resources, and employee health & safety), Castelion leadership, and where applicable with landlords and building owners, regarding day-to-day security operations, as well as special events or emergency situations
- Due to the various type and scope of operations performed and sites utilized at Castelion, Security Specialists responsibilities may vary at each campus in order to ensure the most effective and secure operations at all sites. This may include, but is not limited to: standing post, escort duty, tours, and various tasks as directed. The Lead Physical Security Specialist will be responsible for delegation of duties to any staff, or other employees as needed for support.

Basic Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 5+ years of experience working in a customer service or facility security position
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Strong knowledge of Visitor Management systems, badging procedures, access control, and employee badge management
- Ability to navigate complex support needs, and build solid relationships with internal stakeholders
- Strong customer service and relationship/team-building skills
- Active First Aid/CPR/AED certifications
- Exceptional communication skills both oral and written
- Impeccable character and integrity
- Prior DoD Facility, Military, or security-related experience
- Ability to de-escalate disputes and/or conflict(s)
- Experience with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Additional Pluses
- Availability to work any schedule needed, including, but not limited to: overtime, nights, weekends and rotating schedules
- Position is subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to occasionally stand in a static position for extended periods
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to pass Air Force and NASA background checks for installation access, as needed
- Possess or obtain U.S. Government Security Clearance
- Possess or be eligible for a valid state security officer license
