Senior Footwear Material Quality Lead (North Vietnam/English)

 Job Description:

1. Location: North Vietnam (travelling around the North required)

2. Reporting line: Senior Manager, Materials Quality (Indian)

3. Job Description.

Key Area of Responsibility:

  • Drive and support the certification and training programs (SCP) for footwear material suppliers, ensuring compliance with company quality standards and calibration requirements.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Brands, Sourcing, Product Development, GMS, and other stakeholders to investigate material quality issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication channels with both internal teams and external material suppliers to ensure alignment on quality expectations and standards.
  • Partner with Regional Quality (RO QM) and Global Material Services (GMS) teams to proactively identify quality risks and develop innovative solutions for footwear materials.
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations to enhance material performance, durability, and reliability while minimizing quality-related issues.
  • Develop, standardize, and implement quality processes, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistency across all footwear material categories, including polymers, synthetic materials, textiles, and leather.
  • Coordinate material testing and validation activities with internal laboratories and external testing agencies to ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and performance requirements.

Strategic Role Relationship Building:

  • Collaborate with Brand teams and stakeholders to provide actionable insights on footwear material quality that contribute to improved product performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal teams as well as global supplier networks to support continuous quality improvement and material innovation initiatives.
  • Facilitate constructive discussions with stakeholders to align expectations regarding material performance standards and quality objectives.

Leadership:

  • Demonstrate strong communication, listening, and influencing skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and suppliers effectively.
  • Promote a culture of quality excellence by guiding stakeholders toward achieving high standards in footwear material quality and product performance.

4. Requirements.

  • More than 5 years of experience in polymer manufacturing operations. Exposure in finished goods/footwear manufacturing (stitching/stock fitting/assembly).
  • Good Knowledge in Polymers CTQ, CTP, materials defects, root causes and remedy measures, materials testing, ability to perform quality data analysis, worked on quality resolution through RCA and CAP.
  • Excellent communication skills and collaboration skills to guide and influence T2 suppliers and cross-functional teams to achieve high standards in company quality and performance.
  • Fluent in English and Vietnamese.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
  • Familiar with 5S / ISO 9001 / 8D problem solving
  • Familiar with Fishbone Diagram / 5 WHY
  • Knowledge in Six Sigma disciplines would be advantageous

5. Benefits.

  • Salary: up to 55 mil VND Gross/month.
  • 13th-month salary + Performance-based bonus depending on annual business results (total annual compensation is uncapped).
