Legal & Compliance Leader (2000 USD) HN/ HCM

 Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compliance Framework: Develop, implement and maintain the company's internal compliance manual in accordance with the Law on Insurance Business and relevant Decrees.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Prepare and submit periodic and ad-hoc reports relating to legal and compliance matters to the Ministry of Finance (MOF), the Insurance Supervisory Authority (ISA), and other relevant
    regulators.
  • Contract Review: Review and provide legal advice on service agreements with insurance companies and brokerage service agreements with clients.
  • Data Privacy: Act as the focal point for Decree 13/PDPD compliance, managing Personal Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) and internal data handling protocols.
  • Internal Advisory: Provide legal updates and guidance to Sales, IT, HR and ACC departments to mitigate operational risks.
  • Licensing: Manage procedures for insurance brokerage license maintenance, amendments, and renewals.
  • Internal Control Support: Support periodic compliance monitoring and internal control reviews, follow up on dentified issues, and coordinate with relevant departments on remediation actions where required.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education: Bachelor of Laws is required.
2. Experience: At least 4-6 years of experience in Legal or Compliance within the Insurance industry (Insurance Companies or Brokerages)
3. Skills:

  • Solid understanding of the Law on Insurance Business and other laws. Native Vietnamese and Upper-Intermediate English (ability to draft legal documents and report to management).
  • Experience in direct communication with the MOF is a strong advantage.
  • Exposure to internal control or compliance monitoring is preferred.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to propose practical solutions to balance legal risks with business needs.
  • Proactive, highly ethical, and capable of working independently in a startup-like environment within an established firm.
  • Training skills.
