About the Role

Code 9 Security is recruiting highly competent and professional Event Security Officers to support a wide variety of events. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of guests while delivering a world-class customer experience in every interaction.

You will bring excellent communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and a genuine passion for customer care.

As an Event Security Officer, you will be a key member of our frontline team, reporting to an Operations Manager and any supervisors or team leaders they appoint.

Typical duties include:

welcoming guests to and from the venue, controlling access points, conducting searches in accordance with venue policies, patrolling event spaces, responding to fire or first aid emergencies, and liaising closely with event organisers.

You will inspire confidence, demonstrate professionalism, and maintain the ability to remain calm, proportionate, and decisive, even under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a warm, friendly, and professional welcome to all guests.

  • Implement venue search and admission policies in a respectful, compliant, and customer-focused manner.

  • Proactively patrol the venue to identify safety issues, potential risks, and obstructions to escape routes.

  • Professionally and proportionately defuse conflict and manage hostility using approved techniques.

  • Competently and appropriately use physical intervention techniques when required and lawful.

  • Maintain accurate records of venue occupancy, checks, and operational occurrences.

  • Respond promptly to support colleagues and react swiftly to observed threats, incidents, or alarm activations.

  • Investigate suspicious persons, vehicles, or activity, sharing information with colleagues, management, and police partners where appropriate.

  • Prepare and maintain clear, accurate incident reports and written records in the required format.

  • Where lawful and necessary, detain suspects, and liaise with police to preserve evidence, provide statements, and support investigations.

  • Support stakeholders and event organisers as far as is reasonable and within assignment instructions.

  • Act as an ambassador for the Company at all times, maintaining excellent standards of behaviour, presentation, and professionalism.

Requirements and Skills

  • Frontline SIA Licence in Door Supervision or Close Protection.

  • Full UK Driving Licence highly desirable but not essential.

  • First Aid at Work qualification (3-day).

  • Proven experience as an event security officer.

  • Strong written communication skills and confidence in report writing.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Successful applicants can expect to earn £15–£18 per hour, depending on experience, responsibility, and assignment requirements.
