Role Overview
We are hiring a Supply Chain Engineer on behalf of our client, a climate tech startup developing next-generation solar technology to transform the way solar energy is produced and scaled. Based in San Carlos, California, this is a high-impact, full-time on-site role. You will shape the company's supply chain strategy from R&D through manufacturing scale-up, working cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Define material and chemical specifications by partnering with suppliers and R&D teams
  • Support quality control efforts by verifying and documenting QA/QC methods in the lab
  • Assess and qualify suppliers through audits, capability reviews, and ongoing monitoring
  • Collaborate with the VP of Manufacturing & Supply Chain to manage sourcing strategy and second-source planning
  • Oversee material deliveries, inventory, and documentation using ERP and internal systems
  • Work across teams to support scale-up planning, new vendor onboarding, and operations continuity
Required Skills & Experience
  • 24 years of experience in supply chain management or supply chain engineering
  • Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, Electrical) or Science (Chemistry, Physics), or related technical field
  • Proven experience managing suppliers from qualification to long-term performance monitoring
  • Understanding of QA/QC methods for chemicals and raw materials
  • Proficiency in ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP, and familiarity with MES systems
  • Organized, proactive, and mission-driven, with strong project delivery history
Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience in high-tech manufacturing environments, such as solar, semiconductors, or advanced materials
  • Prior experience in Silicon Solar PV or perovskite technologies
  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
