Role Overview
We are hiring a Supply Chain Engineer on behalf of our client, a climate tech startup developing next-generation solar technology to transform the way solar energy is produced and scaled. Based in San Carlos, California, this is a high-impact, full-time on-site role. You will shape the company's supply chain strategy from R&D through manufacturing scale-up, working cross-functionally with engineering, product, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities

Define material and chemical specifications by partnering with suppliers and R&D teams

Support quality control efforts by verifying and documenting QA/QC methods in the lab

Assess and qualify suppliers through audits, capability reviews, and ongoing monitoring

Collaborate with the VP of Manufacturing & Supply Chain to manage sourcing strategy and second-source planning

Oversee material deliveries, inventory, and documentation using ERP and internal systems

Work across teams to support scale-up planning, new vendor onboarding, and operations continuity
Required Skills & Experience

24 years of experience in supply chain management or supply chain engineering

Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, Electrical) or Science (Chemistry, Physics), or related technical field

Proven experience managing suppliers from qualification to long-term performance monitoring

Understanding of QA/QC methods for chemicals and raw materials

Proficiency in ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP, and familiarity with MES systems

Organized, proactive, and mission-driven, with strong project delivery history
Nice-to-Haves

Experience in high-tech manufacturing environments, such as solar, semiconductors, or advanced materials

Prior experience in Silicon Solar PV or perovskite technologies
