L3/L4 Engineer
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-sufficient Level 3/4 Systems Engineer to join our team in Mckinney, TX. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Microsoft cloud technologies especially Azure, Entra ID, Intune, and AVD as well as experience working in a fast-paced MSP environment. This role also includes key Design Desk responsibilities such as solution scoping, technical pre-sales input, and design documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
Microsoft Cloud Engineering:

Architect, deploy, and support scalable Microsoft Azure environments

Configure and manage Azure Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune, Autopilot, and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)

Lead cloud migrations, tenant-to-tenant transitions, and Microsoft 365 integrations

Create and enforce security policies using Intune, Conditional Access, and Endpoint Manager

Write and maintain automation scripts (preferably in PowerShell) for deployment and management tasks
Design Desk & Project Engineering:

Serve as a lead technical resource on the Design Desk, contributing to solution architecture and scoping

Translate client business needs into scalable technical solutions

Draft and deliver clear, client-facing Statements of Work (SOWs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with minimal oversight

Participate in pre-sales calls and technical discovery for prospective clients

Collaborate with project managers, account executives, and other engineers to deliver successful client onboarding and solution rollout
Support & Escalation:

Provide Tier 3/4 support for escalated tickets, including networking, server, and identity issues

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance during project delivery

Maintain accurate documentation of environments, changes, and standards
Required Skills & Experience:
-
5+ years of hands-on experience in a managed services or enterprise IT setting

Expert knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Intune, AVD, Azure AD/Entra ID, and Microsoft 365
-
Strong understanding of Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, and hybrid cloud environments

Experience creating and managing SOWs, SLAs, and technical design documents

High proficiency in client interaction, technical discovery, and communicating complex solutions clearly

Ability to self-manage, prioritize, and drive tasks and projects to completion with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications:

Microsoft certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, MS-100, MS-101, or similar)

Familiarity with RMM and PSA platforms (e.g., ConnectWise, Kaseya, or Autotask)

Experience with cybersecurity best practices in Microsoft environments

Background in network infrastructure, firewalls, or virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V)
