The Department of Provincial and Local-Level Government Affairs (DPLGA) is at the heart of Papua New Guinea’s decentralized governance, serving as a critical link between the National Government and communities across all provinces and districts (Sub-National Levels).

Our mandate is to support and strengthen provincial and local-level governments to ensure inclusive, transparent, and accountable service delivery. We work to build the capacity of sub-national institutions, promote active citizen participation, and drive sustainable development that reaches even the most remote communities.
