EDANA, the leading European association for the nonwovens and related industries, is opening a high‑energy role for a public affairs professional who wants to be at the heart of EU policymaking and industry transformation. Working closely with the Public Affairs Director, you will help shape the industrys voice while taking ownership of your own dossiers and stakeholder relationships. This Public Affairs Officer role is perfect for someone who enjoys fast‑moving policy debates, building networks in Brussels, and turning complex issues into concrete advocacy impact for a European membership, and is ideal for an early‑career public affairs professional eager to grow their responsibilities and develop a strong Brussels network.

Your role

  • Contribute to strengthening the dialogue with stakeholders in key EU Institutions and relevant external partners, in close coordination with the Public Affairs Director.
  • Monitor relevant EU and international policy developments, analyse their potential impact on the industry, and communicate timely insights to members.
  • Support the development and implementation of advocacy and stakeholder engagement strategies, and progressively manage specific dossiers or initiatives in coordination with member companies.
  • Facilitate discussions and decision-making within working groups and regional groups, ensuring active participation and alignment among member companies.
  • Coordinate and contribute to joint advocacy efforts with partner associations and other industry stakeholders.
  • Support the preparation and moderation of sessions for policy-related briefings, meetings, conferences, and trainings.

Your profile

  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • A Bachelors or Masters degree in European affairs, public affairs, economics, business administration or law, or a relevant scientific background;
  • Excellent knowledge of the environmental legislation policies and debates, and a strong understanding of the EU legislative framework and decision-making process;
  • Experience in an international environment, ideally in a position including stakeholder relations;
  • Excellent written and oral presentation and disseminating skills, in English;
  • Knowledge of at least one other EU language is a plus;
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with a variety of audiences;
  • Self-starter, able to work on own initiative as well as within the dynamic EDANA team.
