EXTERNAL VACANCY

The National Youth Council of Namibia (established under Act No. 3 of 2009) invites applications from suitably qualified and dynamic individuals for the following position:


DIRECTOR

Five (5) Year Contract | Windhoek | Patterson E2

The Director serves as the Accounting Officer of the Council and is responsible for strategic leadership, financial stewardship, governance compliance, and overall operational management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and institutional direction
  • Lead implementation of national youth programmes
  • Ensure financial and administrative accountability
  • Oversee operations and performance management
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and income generation
  • Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and the strategic plan

Minimum Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Youth Development, Business Administration, Social Sciences or related field
  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience, including at least 5 years at senior management level
  • Valid Code B Drivers Licence
  • Proficiency in MS Office and digital systems

  • Strategic leadership and governance capability
  • Strong financial and administrative management skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Strong planning and organisational ability
  • Ability to perform under pressure
  • In alignment with the National Youth Council Act (2009), candidates within the legislated youth category (16–35 years) and/or those with demonstrated youth development leadership experience may have an added advantage.
