Job Purpose

The Depot Supervisor is responsible for the safe, secure, and efficient operation of the depot, ensuring compliance with Namibian labour and liquor legislation, health and safety standards, and company policies. The role oversees stock control, loss prevention, staff supervision, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Operations

  • Supervise receiving, storage, picking, dispatch, and returns of alcoholic products.
  • Ensure all stock movements are authorised, documented, and traceable.
  • Maintain depot cleanliness, security, and compliance with approved delivery requirements.

Stock Control & Loss Prevention

  • Manage stock counts, stock takes, and inventory accuracy.
  • Investigate and report stock variances, losses, and breakages.
  • Enforce loss-prevention measures and secure storage of stock and assets.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Namibian liquor legislation, labour law, and company policies.
  • Verify alcohol is supplied only to authorised customers.
  • Maintain accurate permits, delivery documentation, and audit records.
  • Support regulatory inspections and internal compliance requirements.

Health, Safety & Security

  • Enforce health and safety standards, PPE usage, and depot security procedures.
  • Report workplace hazards, incidents, and injuries.

People Management

  • Supervise, train, coach, and manage depot staff.
  • Allocate work, monitor attendance, and manage performance.
  • Participate in disciplinary and grievance processes in line with labour legislation.

Administration & Customer Service

  • Maintain operational records and prepare management reports.
  • Liaise with drivers, customers, suppliers, and internal departments to resolve operational issues and customer queries.

Minimum Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Logistics, Warehousing or Supply Chain qualification advantageous.
  • 3–5 years' warehouse/depot experience.
  • Experience in alcohol, beverage or FMCG distribution preferred.
  • Supervisory experience essential.

Skills & Competencies

  • Leadership and people management.
  • Stock control and loss prevention.
  • Knowledge of Namibian labour and liquor legislation.
  • Strong communication, reporting, problem-solving, and computer skills (ERP/MS Excel).
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.

Working Conditions

  • Shift work, weekends, and public holidays may be required.
  • Physically active role in a secure, controlled alcohol distribution environment.
