The nature of the job is a manager's position. This entails the following:

Job Description

  • Run the maintenance and Pool service division as a self sustainable business.
  • Taking leadership to ensure all personal in this division has job descriptions, and all admin regarding the people in this division is complete.
  • Set up and manage meetings to train and motivate people.
  • Ensure that people are disciplined.
  • Putting systems in place to make sure the maintenance of the vehicles are monitored and controlled.
  • Making sure that the cost of vehicles are low and does not run out of control.
  • Ensuring that the vehicles are always neat and presentable.
  • Ensure that the current customer help system is re evaluated and changed or enforced to ensure that the problems of all customers that phone in on a daily basis is recorded.
  • Open up job cards and ensure that no double accounts are generated.
  • Invoice all maintenance customers immediately after the job was done.
  • Make sure that the quote prepared for a customer is such that Lic covers all costs and the profit is in line with current structure. (Speak to Manager especially during the first 6 months.)
  • Ensure that you are absolutely sure about the amount of work involved to repair a pool before you quote. (Many times the opening up takes a lot longer than what initially reaches the eye.) Burgert will help.
  • Ensure that notes regarding customers are accurately done on the pastel system.
  • Ensure that more urgent requests gets attended to immediately (Like Koi Ponds)
  • Be in regular contact with maintenance teams to ensure they do not miss appointments.
  • Follow up on debtors of the pool service and maintenance
  • Put, measures in place to ensure minimum travelling: Currently our vehicles travel to Lic and back to customers nonstop because people do not carry the right items on bakkies and a proper assessment of the job was not done.
  • Put measures in place to ensure plumbing and quality of work is the best in Africa. Currently our plumbing is sometimes very skew, pipes and pumps left very dirty.
  • A leak means a dripping pipe. In many times it is acceptable for maintenance people that a pipe is wet or dripping. This is not the standard we require.
  • Make 100% sure that promises made to customers are kept.
  • Phone the customer and give him/her the option to fly the product in overnight if we do not have it in stock.
  • It is vital that our maintenance team records all problems on a pool or pond during their visit, even if the client did not pick it up. It is vital that you give this trough in writing to the client.
  • Make sure the database on all clients are accurate and complete in especially the work that was done there.

Requirements

  • Must have sound knowledge in pastell
  • Be a self-starter
  • Must have analytical skills
  • Must be fluent in English and Afrikaans 
  • German will be an added advatnatge
