NB: CANDIDATE MUST HAVE STRONG SALES SKILLS BACKGROUND AND EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IN THE LOGISTICS INDUSTRY
Responsibilities
- Identify, research and acquire new clients, including cold‑calling and leveraging personal networks.
- Balance responsibilities between new business development and servicing existing clients.
- Cross‑sell additional supply chain services using established industry networks.
- Prepare visit schedules and report on client interactions and KPIs.
Maintain strong market awareness and ensure clients receive updated product and service information. - Provide tailored solutions, quotations and technical support to clients.
- Develop sales strategies including pricing, tender preparation and contract negotiation.
- Deliver after‑sales service and ensure effective communication between clients and internal departments.
- Monitor payment processes and support invoice management.
Support innovation and track competitor activity for strategic advantage. - Manage service‑level agreements, statutory requirements and relationships with external stakeholders.
- Maintain communication across internal divisions and build strong relationships with carriers, suppliers and operational partners.
- Review and manage customer agreements continuously.
Act as the primary interface between clients and operations to strengthen client relationships. - Engage in project management, strategic planning, negotiation and opportunity development.
- Identify gaps in operational performance and drive corrective actions.
- Report service or product issues to senior management, clients and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with safety, OHS and internal regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Matric
- Tertiary qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in a Key Account Management (KAM) role.
- Proven ability to manage multiple accounts while actively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Strong capability to understand client needs and negotiate pricing, services and contract terms effectively.
- Demonstrated people‑management experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong report‑writing skills with the ability to present clear, accurate and professional documentation.
- Experience in tender drafting and submission processes.
- A valid BE driver's licence is essential
