Position: Logistics Methods & Transit Engineer
Type: Full-time position
Location: Windhoek, Namibia
A well established global client active throughout the energy value chain, from production through to transportation and transformation into intermediate and finished products, including storage and distribution of those products to meet the needs of our business customers and consumers, is looking for a dynamic team member to join.
Transit:
- Focal point for all Customs Clearance IN & OUT , interfacing with agents
- Focal point for COMPANY for all questions/requirements regarding transit in Namibia
- Support for Technical team based on all matters linked to Transit & Freight forwarding
RSC: Road Safety Coordinator
- Ensures compliance with national/international Road Safety regulations
- Writes procedures for road transport safety management
- Participates in the selection process for External Companies and Transporters, as well as monitoring and evaluation of them
- Defines and deploys the ICT program
- Participates in accident/incident analysis
- Participates in risk assessments
- Develops, in collaboration with HSE team, safety culture programs for all stakeholders, (External Companies, Drivers, Communities, etc.)
- Monitors COMPANY Transport Safety Action Plan
- Leads and coordinates the network of Land Transport Correspondents (LTCs)
Methods:
- Responsible for keeping all Logistics Procedures & Bridging Documents up to date
- In charge of following up, organizing, maintaining all new Logistics procedures / memos / policy reviewed by Marine Superintendent, Logistics Superintendent, and Logistics Manager.
- In charge of following up procedures up to date and promoting them within the team
- In charge of audit follow-up
- In charge of updating/proposing KPIs & following their communication & analysis with the objective of further
- Interface with CMS (Company Management System) Coordinator
Focal point for Cost Control & Finance under the supervision of Logistics Manager
- For budget preparation & Cost Control with Technical Departments & Finance
- For contract follow-up / updates
Local Content
- Focal point for logistics local content initiatives
- Ensure enforcement of all local content contractual requirements from logistic contractors
- Identify & promote local logistic providers and propose alternatives to logistic manager for their qualifications
Accountabilities
- Focal Point for Transit of all Import/ Export equipment
- Responsible for efficient Road Safety Implementation
- Focal Point for all Logistics Methods issues, i.e. Budget Follow-up, Contracts Follow-up, KPIs and Procedures
Qualifications/Experience required
- B.Sc./ B.A or equivalent in Supply Chain/ Logistics/ Finance or Engineering
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in Transit/ Land Transportation/ Customs/ Aviation/ or O&G offshore activities
- MS-Office expertise. Power BI is a plus
- Fluent in written and spoken English
