Vacancy – NMC Principal Officer

5-year contract

Location: Windhoek, Namibia

Primary purpose of position

The Principal Officer acts as the Executive Officer and will manage and coordinate all strategic, operational and administrative functions of the Fund to align goals and organisational strategy. This is done in compliance with the Medical Aid Fund Rules and

statutory regulations/Medical Aid Funds Act under the strict guidance and authority of the Board of Trustees.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Relevant degree in a related field at NQF level 7, (e.g. Medical, Law, Finance, Accounting, Economics or Commerce) with 5 years of senior management experience in a related industry (e.g. Insurance, Asset Management, Pension Fund, Medical Aid)
  • OR
  • Grade 12 with 8 - 10 years of senior management experience in a related industry (e.g. Insurance, Asset Management, Pension Fund, Medical Aid)
  • A Masters degree in a related field will be an added advantage
  • Strong financial understanding and the ability to interpret financial reports at a strategic level
  • Strong experience in the Medical Aid Industry and Fund exposure will be a distinct advantage
  • Demonstrable experience in a complex stakeholder environment
  • Must be a Namibian citizen
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Computer literacy
  • Coordinating and facilitating skills
  • Team worker, dually able to work independently
