Vacancy: Logistics Manager

Location: Windhoek, Namibia

Job Summary:

Our client in the Retail sector is in the market for a Logistics Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct activities in relation to dispatch, routing and tracking of the Delivery fleet.
  • Plan, organize and manage subordinate staff members to ensure that work is completed on time and according to standards, whilst complying with labour and national laws.
  • Direct investigations to verify and resolve any logistics problems with delivery and service requirements.
  • Apply, develop and implement efficient, cost-saving procedures to manage the fleet in the best interests of the business and the fiscal constraints.
  • Arrange, manage and direct repairs and maintenance for Company fleet vehicles, and those vehicles covered under the contractual arrangements for certain employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all Company policies & procedures, transport related policies and road traffic laws and ordinances.
  • Promote safe working practices and activities by conducting safety audits and inspections on fleet vehicles and the designated drivers.
  • Ensure tracking of fleet vehicles is monitored and maintained in order to protect the business and its interest at all times.
  • Monitor running fleet costs regularly, report on them and manage the costs to ensure they remain within the fiscus of the Company.
  • Regular Vehicle inspections to be done

Qualification and Experience Required:

  • 3 to 5 years experience in logistics management
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suites
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
