Role: QUALITY ASSURANCE SUPERINTENDENT
Reporting to: Executive: Quality Assurance and Integrated Management Systems
Location: Walvis Bay
Nature of the position: Permanent role
Primary purpose of this position:
- To ensure that the service Namdock provides is consistent and fit for purpose and meets the ISO 9001 and statutory requirements.
- To handle data related to quality, analyze the companys performance as well as quality reports and documentation that are required as part of the Quality Assurance documentation.
- To facilitate and enforce the quality standards, procedures and policies for Namdock.
- Co-ordinate and maintain the internal and external audits, and promote and support compliance with quality standards to improve the Namdocks services.
Key Performance Areas:
- Training, Integration of the Management System and maintain Management Systems Documentation
Facilitate the quality trainings to comply with ISO 9001, Ship Repairs Standards (IACS 47, ISO 14001, 45001 etc.).
Ensure that competency requirements and resources needed to achieve the quality objectives.
Ensure that processes and activities, controls, measurements, analysis and checks are implemented, reviewed and maintained.
- Leadership and Management of the Quality Management System
Develop and implement divisional strategies, plans and align with quality objectives and Namdocks objectives.
Provide quality recommendation improvements and most suitable problem solving to the Executive.
Assess the activities during manufacturing or work in progress and define and resolve quality problems that may arise.
Analyse the cost of quality and advise i.e. encourages shipping and relevant companies to identify and eliminate wasteful processes, reducing costs and improving resource utilization, ultimately increasing profitability.
- Business Development and Digital Transformation.
With support of the IT, identify the software/s and implement to ensure that digital transformation comply to the quality plans. Conduct Research and Development of potential markets; diversification not related to core business.
- Internal and External Audits
Plan, organise and execute the ISO 9001 internal audits i.e. system and process audits, including audit criteria development.
Ensure that ISO 9001 certification and external audits are well coordinated.
- Staff and Performance Management
Assess the skill gaps and compile the Personal Development Plan.
Regularly discuss the work plans and assess progress reports
Lead, train, coach and mentor the team.
- Budget Management
Contribute inputs to the departmental budget and submit it for recommendations to Executive.
Monitor and evaluate the execution of the budget in the line of delegation authority.
- Stakeholder Engagement
Provide QMS advice to stakeholders and maintain sound relationships.
Participate in the QMS and related forums.
Collaborate with all relevant industry, national, regional and international stakeholders.
Monitor and evaluate the life cycle of the IMS projects and advice on the progress made to Executive QA and IMS.
- QMS Risk Management
Conduct the risk assessment and analyse the data and market trends.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to address risks within the organisation and section.
Review the IMS to ensure the relevance and report the status thereof.

Qualification and Experience Required:
- Minimum Bachelors degree in Quality Management Systems and Auditing, Environmental Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, Science, Project Management and/or any related field at NQF Level 7.
- A Quality Management and/or related standards Qualification/Certification will be an added advantage.
- A Bachelors Honours Degree in relevant field at NQF Level 8, will be an added advantage.
- Three (3) years of experience in external and/or Internal Auditing on Management System Standards, guidelines for auditing management systems and registered auditor will be an added advantage, successful implementation and maintenance of the ISO 9001 or any related Management Systems Digital transformation at supervisory/mid-management level.
- Proficient and knowledgeable about quality management and quality assurance principles.
- A Valid Drivers Licence (Code B).
