A well-established retail chain is looking for a results-driven and commercially focused Buyer Hardware to join our growing procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, selecting, and managing a compelling and profitable range of hardware and DIY products across our store network.

Key Responsibilities:
- Source and curate a competitive assortment of tools, fittings, paint, garden equipment, building materials, and general hardware.
- Develop and implement category strategies based on market trends, customer demand, and store needs.
- Identify and build strong supplier partnerships, negotiating best pricing, trading terms, and promotional deals.
- Monitor product performance and adjust the assortment based on sales data, customer feedback, and seasonal shifts.
- Collaborate with planning and logistics teams to ensure optimal stock levels, availability, and timely replenishment.
- Ensure all products comply with relevant quality, safety, and legal standards.
- Work with the marketing and merchandising teams to coordinate promotions, in-store displays, and new product launches.
- Monitor and manage category profitability, pricing, and margins to meet business objectives.
- Conduct regular market analysis and competitor reviews to remain competitive and relevant.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of retail buying/procurement experience, with 2+ years in the hardware or home improvement sector.
- Proven experience working with hardware suppliers and brands, both local and international.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with the ability to manage pricing, profitability, and supplier performance.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/procurement systems.
- Knowledge of product compliance and safety regulations applicable to hardware products.
