POSITON NAME: Assistant Financial Accountant

REQUIREMENTS

· A relevant B.Com degree in Accounting

· Minimum 5 years experience in a similar position.

· Proven financial accounting abilities in a professional organisation.

· The candidate must have practical knowledge of pastel.

· Ability to present financial information.

· Good communication skills in English (other languages will be an

  advantage).

· Ability to work independently and in a team.

· Incredible attention to detail.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

· Provide accurate and proper financial/management accounting reports to

  management timeously

· Responsible for month end and year end reports timeously

· Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of accounting entries

  posted to the General Ledger

GENERAL LEDGER:

· Oversight and co-ordination of annual External Audit

· Responsible for tax returns completion and submission

· Quarterly reporting to Board

· Perform activities within the operations space, including

     - Preparation / Review of Daily figures

    - Reconciling Bank accounts

    - Processing Journals to Pastel

    - Reconciling subsidiary ledgers to General Ledger

· Group reporting and Reconciliation of inter-company balances

· Keep up with financial policies, regulations and tax legislation

· Streamline and recommend improvements to current system
