Position: Chief Commercial Officer (CCO)
Five-Year Contract
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer
Job Grade: E Upper
Purpose of Role
The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is responsible for developing and executing Telecom Namibias commercial strategy, ensuring sustainable revenue growth across fixed, mobile, and digital services. The role demands a customer-centric, data-driven, and digitally savvy approach, aligning with global trends in AI-driven self-service, cybersecurity solutions, and high-performance connectivity in underserved areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth by expanding into emerging digital markets (e.g., managed cybersecurity, cloud services, and enterprise solutions).
- Develop and implement a 5G commercialization strategy for rural and urban market segments.
- Oversee omnichannel customer experience, leveraging AI-driven self-service platforms.
- Lead pricing and bundling strategies, ensuring affordability and competitiveness.
- Strengthen partnerships with ISPs, enterprises, and government entities to expand digital services.
- Lead the digital transformation of sales and marketing functions, leveraging data analytics, automation, and digital channels to optimize customer engagement and drive revenue.
- Optimize channel strategies and pricing models to maximize profitability and market competitiveness.
- Oversee the implementation and optimization of CRM systems to enhance customer insights and personalize customer interactions.
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and growth opportunities.
- Oversee M&A, JVs, PPP activities, ensuring profitable expansion into new markets with key strategic partners.
Key Qualifications & Experience Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Commercial, Business, or Electronic Engineering, or a related field, with a Postgraduate Qualification
- with a minimum of ten (10+) years of experience and in a senior commercial leadership role
- with relevant experience in the commercialisation and monetisation of 5G, cloud services, and digital transformation strategies is highly desirable.
- A Proven track record of driving revenue growth, market share expansion, and customer satisfaction with a strong understanding of digital marketing, sales, and customer experience strategies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal skills and strong analytical and data-driven decision-making.
