Job Summary:
The HSES & Compliance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and security standards across logistics operations, including warehousing, transportation, and distribution. The role focuses on minimizing operational risk, ensuring legal compliance, and promoting a proactive safety culture across all sites and fleet activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enforce HSES policies and procedures across warehouses, transport operations, and distribution centres.
- Conduct regular site inspections, vehicle checks, and safety audits
- Monitor driver compliance with road safety regulations, fatigue management, and safe driving practices
- Ensure compliance with transport legislation and company standards
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, including vehicle-related incidents, and implement corrective actions
- Maintain HSES records, including inspections, incident reports, licenses, and compliance documentation
- Facilitate safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing training for warehouse staff and drivers
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and transportation of goods, including hazardous materials if applicable
- Oversee contractor and third-party compliance with company HSES standards
- Support emergency preparedness, including spill response, fire safety, and evacuation procedures
- Monitor environmental impact, including fuel usage, emissions, and waste management
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety performance and compliance
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Logistics, Environmental Management, or related field
- HSES certification (e.g., NEBOSH, SAMTRAC, or equivalent)
- 3–5 years' experience in HSES within logistics, transport, or warehousing environments
- Strong knowledge of transport safety regulations and HSES legislation
- Experience with fleet safety management and incident investigation
- Valid driver's license (essential)
