Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager / Management Couple to oversee all aspects of lodge operations at the Lodge. This is a live-in position requiring strong leadership, operational excellence, and an unwavering commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience. The successful candidates will be responsible for the smooth running of the lodge, from guest relations to financial oversight, staff management, and environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Guest Experience

  • Oversee all daily operations of the lodge, ensuring a consistently high standard of service.
  • Greet and interact with guests, maintaining a warm, personal, and professional approach.
  • Handle and resolve guest feedback promptly and effectively.

Staff Management & Training

  • Lead, train, and mentor lodge staff to ensure excellent performance and service standards.
  • Maintain staff schedules, performance reviews, and disciplinary processes.
  • Foster a positive and motivated team culture.

Financial & Administrative Management

  • Oversee budgets, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping of all operational, maintenance, and guest-related matters.
  • Manage supplier relationships, stock control, and procurement.

Property, Maintenance & Sustainability

  • Maintain lodge infrastructure, equipment, and vehicles in excellent working order.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Implement eco-friendly and sustainable practices in operations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Namibian citizenship (essential).
  • Proven experience in lodge or hospitality management (5+ years preferred).
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for guest service.
  • Sound financial management and computer literacy skills.
  • Ability to work in a remote location and adapt to a bush environment.

Preferred Competencies

  • Experience as a management couple in a luxury safari/lodge setting.
  • Knowledge of Namibian tourism industry regulations and cultural awareness.
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to multitask across departments.
