Position Summary:

This Senior Manager is responsible for overseeing & coordinating the daily operations activities of the logistics & transport business, including general freight, mining, fuel & bulk liquid services.
This role ensures effective resource management, compliance with industry regulations and delivery of high-quality services to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct & manage daily logistics and transport operations, including fleet, warehousing, dispatch & scheduling.
  • Develop & implement efficient operational strategies that improve productivity & reduce costs.
  • Oversee all company functions including operations, finance, safety, compliance & payroll.
  • Liaising with Group HR on HR, IR & union interaction matters.
  • Lead & mentor cross-functional teams to ensure timely & safe delivery of goods and services.
  • Maintain compliance with transportation laws, safety standards, and hazardous material regulations (where applicable).
  • Monitor KPIs and operational metrics to drive performance improvements.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of all logistics assets, including vehicles and equipment.
  • Enhance client satisfaction through excellent service delivery and responsive communication.
  • Work closely with executive leadership to support the company's strategic initiatives.
  • Promote safety culture and ensure adherence to environmental and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

  • Namibian Citizen
  • Experience in fuel distribution and mining
  • Experience in IR, HR & union interaction is a must
  • All round business acumen in financials, marketing, HR / IR and vehicle maintenance
  • Bachelors degree in logistics, transport management, supply chain, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in logistics and transport operations with a minimum of 8 years in management role
  • Strong knowledge of general freight, fuel transport and bulk liquid logistics
  • Experience in handling and transporting dangerous goods
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
