JOB DESCRIPTION: Relief Manager Carwash (Permanent Position)
LOCATION: Windhoek, Namibia
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Permanent (working approximately 2 weeks per month)
ABOUT THE ROLE
An established and reputable carwash in Windhoek is seeking a mature and service-orientated Relief Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. The Relief Manager will support the business by stepping in for the permanent managers when they are off duty or on leave, ensuring continuity of operations and excellent customer service.
This role is ideal for someone who is responsible, takes initiative, and has the ability to guide, supervise, and motivate a diverse team. The position requires working approximately two (2) weeks per month, with the possibility of additional working days based on operational requirements. Extra days worked during periods when permanent managers are on leave will be remunerated.
The successful candidate will automatically be considered for a full-time Manager position should a permanent Manager resign.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the carwash during the allocated two-week period per month.
- Supervise, lead, and manage a team of approximately 8 employees.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction with exceptional service delivery.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain positive relationships.
- Maintain cleanliness, order, and safety throughout the workplace.
- Ensure that all equipment is in working condition and report any maintenance needs.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure sufficient supplies for daily operations.
- Enforce company policies and procedures.
- Conduct performance management, including disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Cash handling, daily reconciliations, and basic administrative and reporting duties.
- Namibian Citizen (required)
- Valid Drivers License (required)
- Matric / Grade 12
- Must be fluent in English
- Computer Literate (MS Office and/or Point-of-Sale systems)
- Previous supervisory or management experience (advantageous)
- Ability to lead and manage staff, including taking disciplinary action when required
- Strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills
- Trustworthy, reliable, mature, and dedicated to service excellence
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Must reside in Windhoek due to the nature and operational requirements of the business
