Shawn McLoughlin is the Director of Sales at Capcon Networks LLC, an ISP that provides internet connectivity solutions, often in hard to reach places. Capcon serves broadband network operators and eRate institutions, and has been in business for 10 years. The company is a small but fast growing team with a customer first mentality and a clearly defined culture. They work hard, fast, and smart, and expect excellence in their interactions with customers and fellow team members.

We are looking for a Virtual Assistant who is confident, proactive, detail oriented, and comfortable supporting a fast moving sales leader. This person must be able to pivot between big picture priorities and detailed sales process tasks while keeping communication clear, organized, and timely.

As our assistant, you will support the Director of Sales by helping remove bottlenecks, maintain responsiveness, and keep repetitive sales and administrative tasks moving forward.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the Director of Sales' inbox and helping screen messages that need a response but do not require his direct input
  • Supporting sales related administrative tasks and follow through
  • Moving paperwork through the sales process
  • Gathering final order details and helping ensure information is complete
  • Sending quote requests to the Quote Desk
  • Helping maintain and prioritize the Director of Sales' to do list
  • Participating in morning kickoff meetings to review priorities for the day
  • Providing midday checkins to help keep priorities on track
  • Managing and maintaining the Director of Sales' calendar
  • Supporting certain non-strategic customer communications
  • Helping improve processes and identify ways to make repetitive tasks more efficient
  • Helping the Director of Sales stay responsive without pulling him into every administrative detail

In addition to the above, the ideal candidate must be/have:

  • Excellent writing skills, especially with email communication
  • Strong verbal communication skills

  • You must be tech savvy and quick to pick up new tools and software

Position Details

  • This is a 1099 contractor, moving to W2 position after a trial period
  • Benefits include Medical, Dental/Vision, PTO, Sick Time, Paid Holidays, 401(k) with 3% match, and ad hoc holiday and performance bonuses
  • The position will be 40 hours per week
  • Hours are: Monday through Friday, primarily 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CT, with some flexibility needed
  • Occasional evening or weekend availability may be needed as business needs arise
  • The pay rate is $30/hr. USD
  • You must be able to pass a background check
  • We are looking for someone to become a long-term (3+ years) team member
