Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Field Support Engineer to provide onsite technical support across multiple nearby client locations. This role involves frequent travel between designated sites and surrounding clinics.

This opportunity is ideal for junior-level candidates or fresh college graduates who are eager to learn and grow within IT field services. The selected candidate will undergo a customer interview prior to onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Boxing and unboxing IT and networking equipment
  • Perform plug-and-play setup of networking equipment under supervision of Senior Network Engineers
  • Rack and stack networking devices (no configuration experience required)
  • Follow detailed instructions for installation, backup, and equipment handling
  • Provide desktop support assistance (Networking to Desktop Support ratio approximately 2:1 per site)
  • Coordinate with end users for onsite technical support
  • Update and manage tickets via ServiceNow (knowledge preferred)
  • Ensure proper handling and transportation of equipment
  • Lift and move equipment up to 40 lbs as required

Travel Requirements

  • Frequent travel between the following primary locations:
    • 1 Associate Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820
    • 1 Atwell Rd, Cooperstown, NY 13326
  • Additional travel to clinics within a 50–70 mile radius
  • Maximum travel time may be up to 3 hours (one way)
  • Candidate must reside within:
    • 15–20 miles of either site, OR
    • Within 45–50 minutes of a reporting location
  • A valid drivers license and access to a personal vehicle are mandatory

Required Qualifications

  • Associates or bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (fresh graduates welcome)
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and desktop support
  • Strong willingness to learn and follow technical instructions
  • Good communication skills and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work independently in field environments
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 40 lbs
