Compensation: $130,000 – $200,000 base salary (commensurate with experience)

The Opportunity
HireNow Staffing is acting as a direct placement partner for an established civil litigation defense firm seeking an Associate Attorney to join its San Francisco office. This role is ideal for a California-licensed attorney who is motivated to build strong litigation skills while working in a collaborative, supportive, and highly engaged environment.
Attorneys in this practice are given meaningful responsibility, consistent courtroom exposure, and the opportunity to work closely with experienced litigators on a wide range of civil defense matters. The firm values professionalism, stability, and long-term development.
Role Overview
As an Associate Attorney, you will be actively involved in all phases of civil litigation, from case inception through resolution. You will collaborate closely with partners and senior attorneys while developing your own client relationships and litigation style.
Key Responsibilities
Candidates will be considered for interview based on demonstrated ability to:

Handle court appearances and substantive motion practice

Draft pleadings and motions with clarity and precision

Manage and respond to written discovery

Take and defend depositions

Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations

Support pre-trial preparation and trial proceedings

Play an instrumental role in managing and fostering client relationships

Work collaboratively with experienced litigators on diverse civil defense matters
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

Active member of the California State Bar, in good standing

Strong legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills

High level of professionalism, reliability, and sound judgment

Stable work history demonstrating commitment and growth
