Senior Chemical Officer
Job Description:
Job Purpose
- Responsible for Chemical compliance work for materials, products and effluents
- Manage Chemical Management system and drive for improvement actions in Indonesia
Main Duties
1. Maintain compliant to requirements
- Country coordinator for MRSL, work with suppliers to identify RSL risks, plan necessary and cost-effective test.
- Collect RSL compliant declaration letter from the supplier
- Compliance to chemical management requirements
- Country coordinator for PRSL, work with QA and support product compliance work.
- As a ZDHC Gateway user, evaluate the chemical compliance testing result, providing recommendation for procurement and production team about chemical selection from compliance perspective (Supplier to Zero)
- Manage chemical external compliance audit by certification bodies, brands or costumer
2. System Development and early detection
- Manage chemical management system across all Indonesia sites.
- Identify chemical management policy for handling and storage, evaluate the chemical management complied with legal and Company's requirement.
- Key-user of chemical inventory list (CIL), make certain Indonesia have the most updated chemical inventory list at all times. Also manage to provide all customer required chemical inventory list.
- Participated into New Product Development (NPD), solve chemical compliance problem in the first place.
- Analysis recipe, find out alternative chemicals with less hazardous substances, less chemical risk for product chemical safety, and reduce impact to wastewater quality compliant.
- Perform yearly performance benchmark to relevant sites and similar industry
3, Chemical management awareness
- Deliver necessary trainings for RSL, Chemical management system, capacity building for local chemical officer and chemical committee team
- Publish chemical management communication through internal communication platform
4. Audit and Inspection
- Drive chemical suppliers to improve Material Safety Data Sheet, Global Harmonized System labels, to comply with regulatory and Company requirements.
- Perform regular external supplier audit to ensure supplier compliant to all prevailing requirements and follow up CAP completion
- Execute timely internal chemical compliance audit and drive CAP to close findings on time
General Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry or applied chemistry,
- Master's degree in chemistry or applied chemistry is a plus, preferable analytical and organic chemistry specialization
Training:
- Chemical management, AK3 Kimia.
- ZDHC CMS TIG Training is a plus
Skill:
Deep understanding on chemical properties, analytical and organic chemistry, chemical management, good English communication & influencing skills, fast learner
Experience:
- 3-5 Years experiences in chemical management or laboratory management in chemical industry
- 7-10 Years experiences in textile industry is a plus
