Job Overview
We are seeking a highly strategic and analytical professional to join as Assistant GM / Deputy GM – Strategy. This role will play a critical part in driving corporate strategy, financial modeling, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), and financial restructuring initiatives across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings strong experience from investment banking, consulting, or corporate strategy roles, with proven exposure to complex financial analysis and transaction execution.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning & Execution
- Support the development and execution of short-term and long-term corporate strategies.
- Conduct market research, industry analysis, and competitive benchmarking to identify growth opportunities.
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable business plans and initiatives.
2. Financial Modelling & Analysis
- Build and maintain robust financial models (valuation models, scenario analysis, forecasting).
- Perform investment analysis, feasibility studies, and ROI assessments for new projects and expansions.
- Provide data-driven insights to support executive decision-making.
3. Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
- Lead and support end-to-end M&A transactions, including target identification, due diligence, valuation, and deal structuring.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external advisors (investment bankers, legal firms, auditors).
- Develop investment memos and presentations for senior management and board approval.
4. Financial Restructuring
- Analyze financial performance and identify restructuring opportunities to improve profitability and cash flow.
- Support debt restructuring, capital optimization, and turnaround strategies where needed.
- Work closely with finance teams to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
5. Stakeholder Management
- Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to drive strategic initiatives and ensure execution.
- Build relationships with external partners, investors, and advisors.
General Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field; MBA or CFA is highly preferred.
- Minimum 8–15 years of experience in strategy, investment banking, private equity, management consulting, or corporate finance.
- Strong expertise in financial modelling, business valuation, and investment analysis.
- Proven experience in handling M&A transactions (buy-side and/or sell-side).
- Hands-on experience in financial restructuring, turnaround strategy, or capital structuring.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, corporate finance principles, and market dynamics.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong leadership capability and stakeholder management skills.
Additional Requirements
- Open to Expatriates who currently residing in Indonesia (valid work permit / KITAS preferred).
- Prior experience working in Southeast Asia or emerging markets is an advantage.
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance strategic thinking and execution.
