About the job SHEQ Advisor
You will be a part of the IES Safety team and will be working within our Major Projects Gas contracts, supporting IES to safely and compliantly deliver our works for our clients, National Gas and Cadent Gas.
The below outlines the requirements of the role and what will be expected;
- Always promote a positive and professional image of the department by adhering to company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Provide inductions, training, and coaching when required.
- Carry out site inspections, raising and following up on non-conformance reports to ensure monitor contract and legal compliance, ensuring that any actions identified are closed out in the allocated time frame.
- Work closely with the client, building relations and ensuring a proactive approach is taken regarding SHEQ performance.
- Conduct Safety stand downs and deliver briefings to operational teams and supervisors when required.
- Work as part of the SHEQ team to develop working practices and procedures.
- Provide expert SHEQ advice to contract/site managers, monitor and support employees/sub-contractors on SHEQ-related matters and initiatives.
- Undertake incident investigations where required, producing a report containing root cause analysis to determine causation, required actions, and ensure close out in the allocated time frame.
- Ensure all required data is sent to SHEQ Admin for updating of IMS.
- Produce monthly performance reports for your respective contracts in line with client requirements.
- Assist SHEQ Manager and advisors in external audit preparation ISO, Achilles etc, where required.
- Participate in weekly SHEQ calls across all contracts, sharing any non-conformance, actions required, best practices, and any initiatives.
- Report all information back to the SHEQ manager.
Requirements:
- Experience in a SHEQ Advisor role working on Gas projects.
- NEBOSH L3 (General Certificate Construction) as a minimum.
- Organisational skills.
- Reliable.
- Excellent timekeeping.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Can work well in a team as well as using their own initiative.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- Willing to travel and possible weekly overnight stays (depending on contract).
