Zimbabwe Platinum Mines (Pvt) Limited (ZIMPLATS) is the largest platinum group metals producer in Zimbabwe. It owns and operates the Selous Metallurgical Complex (SMC), Ngezi Concentrator and the Ngezi Underground Mines

Zimplats is recruiting Apprenticeship Trainees who will undergo a four (4) year structured apprenticeship training programme in designated trades.

LOCATION: Selous Metallurgical Complex and Ngezi Mines

TRAINING TRADES: 

Fitter & Turner (5),

Diesel Plant Fitter (3) and

Electrical Power (3)

STARTING JOB GRADE: A3

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Five (5) O Level passes at grade C or better, three of which must be in Mathematics, English Language and Science
• Clearance letter from the Registrar of Apprenticeship
• A clean driver or learner's licence for the Diesel Plant Fitting apprentices

OTHER ATTRIBUTES:

• Agile, self-driven and quick to learn, with a positive, proactive and can-do attitude,

• Emotional & social intelligence, and

• Outstanding interpersonal skills.

APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME STRUCTURE:

• On-the-job guided technical competency development

• Designated trade focused coaching

• Professional qualification acquisition up to National Diploma level.
