My client, a top international investment bank, is growing in Asia and seeking a skilled Application Support Engineer to join them in Hong Kong. In this role, you will develop a stable and automated environment, engage in simulations and testing of trading systems, and collaborate with various teams to ensure high reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Interact with senior FO Trading and Sales stakeholders to understand requirements and actively participate in product enhancement discussions.
• Automate processes to establish a reliability-focused trading environment, ensuring minimal downtime and high system performance.
• Conduct comprehensive simulations and rigorous testing of trading systems to identify potential issues and validate functionality.
• Collaborate with development teams to analyze technical challenges, draft specifications, and participate in architectural discussions and code reviews.
• Diagnose and resolve bugs identified during system and UAT testing, striving to enhance overall application performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in a production support role within equity derivatives, such as options and futures, in an investment banking context.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Shell, Perl, or Java, with experience in unit testing practices and automation scripting.
• Familiarity with Linux and Windows environments, as well as Oracle PL/SQL and Autosys for job scheduling.
• Strong understanding of DevOps; ideally, experience with GitHub and some understanding of containerization.
