Overview:
A leading global financial services firm is seeking a talented and motivated professional to join its Institutional Securities technology group, focusing on post-trade data and reporting systems. This role is part of a global team that builds and maintains data infrastructure and reporting solutions supporting a wide range of internal clients, including Sales and Trading, Risk, Finance, and Operations.
You will be joining a group that develops tools and platforms for trade data processing, analytics, and internal reporting. The role involves building data marts, business intelligence dashboards, and custom reports that enable timely decision-making and regulatory compliance.
This is a high-visibility, hands-on position with exposure to both the technical and business sides of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:

Partner with internal stakeholders to gather and analyze reporting and data requirements.

Develop and support reporting applications using SQL, Business Intelligence tools (e.g., QlikView, Business Objects), and scripting languages.

Respond to time-sensitive regulatory data inquiries with accuracy and efficiency.

Analyze data workflows and identify optimal data sources and extraction methods.

Tune complex SQL queries for performance across various data platforms.

Collaborate with a global team of developers, contributing to task prioritization and issue resolution.

Deliver scalable and maintainable solutions to support high-volume post-trade activity reporting.
Required Skills:

Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as Sybase, DB2, Greenplum, or Snowflake.

Strong scripting skills in Python, PERL, or UNIX shell scripting.

Solid understanding of data modeling and performance optimization in reporting contexts.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills:

Background in the financial services industry, especially in equities or institutional trading environments.
