Overview:

A leading global financial services firm is seeking a talented and motivated professional to join its Institutional Securities technology group, focusing on post-trade data and reporting systems. This role is part of a global team that builds and maintains data infrastructure and reporting solutions supporting a wide range of internal clients, including Sales and Trading, Risk, Finance, and Operations.

You will be joining a group that develops tools and platforms for trade data processing, analytics, and internal reporting. The role involves building data marts, business intelligence dashboards, and custom reports that enable timely decision-making and regulatory compliance.

This is a high-visibility, hands-on position with exposure to both the technical and business sides of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to gather and analyze reporting and data requirements.

  • Develop and support reporting applications using SQL, Business Intelligence tools (e.g., QlikView, Business Objects), and scripting languages.

  • Respond to time-sensitive regulatory data inquiries with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Analyze data workflows and identify optimal data sources and extraction methods.

  • Tune complex SQL queries for performance across various data platforms.

  • Collaborate with a global team of developers, contributing to task prioritization and issue resolution.

  • Deliver scalable and maintainable solutions to support high-volume post-trade activity reporting.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as Sybase, DB2, Greenplum, or Snowflake.

  • Strong scripting skills in Python, PERL, or UNIX shell scripting.

  • Solid understanding of data modeling and performance optimization in reporting contexts.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills; ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Self-driven with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Preferred Skills:

  • Background in the financial services industry, especially in equities or institutional trading environments.

  • Experience with BI tools such as QlikView, Business Objects, Tableau, or Sigma.

  • Familiarity with software development best practices and the full SDLC.

  • Interest in mentoring or coordinating with offshore development teams.
