Backend Java Engineer – Financial Platforms (Cards & Lending)

The Digital Bank Build team is developing a new suite of highly reliable and scalable financial platforms and applications using modern engineering practices. This role will support the build-out of core banking capabilities, including lending and card-related products.

You'll work alongside talented engineers who value technical excellence, clean architecture, and full ownership of what they build.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and deploy backend services with a focus on scalability, high availability, and low latency
• Deliver features end-to-end: design, build, test, deploy, monitor, and continuously improve
• Analyze requirements, propose technical solutions, and collaborate in an Agile/Scrum DevOps environment
• Work with modern architectures including microservices, serverless, and event-driven systems

• Take full ownership of the features and services you build

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of software development experience using Java

• Strong database and schema design skills for large-scale systems

• Pragmatic mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn

• Adaptability and comfort working in a fast-changing environment

• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English

• Strong team player with experience working in Agile teams

• Prior experience in banking or financial services
