Position Overview

Responsible for developing, maintaining, and operating the supply chain for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Identify sources for products/services in support of customer requests in a timely manner. Ensure proper product selection, matches, and/or alternatives.
  • Make purchasing decisions based on customer needs, market and competitor conditions, product specifications, supplier strategies, regulations, and business policies
  • Negotiate costs, terms, and conditions with suppliers
  • Provide exceptional customer service by proactively contacting customers to resolve issues and to improve opportunities' success rate
  • Maintain and report purchasing results and productivity measurements, including number of quotes completed per day, cycle time, average mark-up, and buy/quote ratio
  • Communicate performance expectations and provide qualitative feedback regarding performance of suppliers
  • Support gross profit goals by negotiating and controlling product costs, lead times, freight terms, and purchase quantity requirements
  • Maintain existing supplier relationships and initiate potential new supplier relationships
  • Communicate with HQ abroad (Korea) regarding imported items
  • Support team members on products and source inquiries

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; preferred to be in Supply Chain, Logictics, Business, Economics, E-Commerce, Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in procurement/purchasing or related field
  • Excellent negotiating skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong business acumen and decision-making skills
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team environment
  • Solid grasp of MS Office/ERP
  • CPSM or relevant certification preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with procurement/purchasing regarding MRO products preferred
