Sales Director Mexico

Reporting to: Managing Director
Reports: Five sales managers + 18 sales reps (indirect)
Scope: B2B Industrial Products & Services – Solutions & Services Selling

Role Purpose

We are looking for a Sales Director who builds and runs a sales system, not a senior salesperson.

The roles purpose is to drive profitable, predictable growth by:

  • Building long-term customer partnerships via expert wear advisory
  • Creating focus, structure, and accountability in the sales organization
  • Shifting sales behavior from reactive deal-chasing to planned, value-based selling

This role is about how sales is run, not about personally closing deals.

Business Context

  • Industrial B2B environment with products and services (tailored projects)
  • Premium positioning; value selling, not price competition
  • Strategic industries: Cement, Mining, Sugar, Iron & Steel
  • Sales organization needs stronger discipline, account planning, and execution

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate the Customer Intimacy value proposition into concrete sales behavior, priorities, and processes
  • Lead and develop Sales Managers and sales teams toward advisory, account-based selling
  • Embed account planning, opportunity prioritization, and CRM-driven sales management
  • Set pricing strategies by product and customer segment that reinforce premium positioning
  • Drive services and workshop-based projects as a strategic growth engine
  • Actively discourage price-driven selling and structurally low-quality business
  • Ensure CRM-driven discipline, forecasting credibility, and cross-functional alignment

What This Role Is NOT

  • Not a senior sales rep or relationship-owner for key accounts
  • Not someone who wins business by discounting competitors
  • Not transactional selling

Required Profile

Experience

  • 10+ years of B2B sales experience in industrial / technical environments
  • Proven experience leading sales managers and shaping sales behavior
  • Strong track record in managing pricing, margins, and profitability
  • Experience with services, solutions, or project-based selling
  • Exposure to heavy industries such as mining, cement, steel, or similar is strongly preferred
