Assistant Expert - Automotive Lamp Design

Position Overview:

Oversee day-to-day activities of the design team, ensure resource allocation, maintain project timelines, and uphold quality standards across multiple lighting programs.

Main Responsibilities:

• Plan and assign design tasks for Engineers and Senior Engineers based on project priorities.
• Monitor project schedules, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to meet milestones (e.g., PPAP, APQP).
• Facilitate regular design reviews, ensure documentation completeness, and enforce PLM processes.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, quality, and purchasing to resolve technical issues and expedite sample builds.
• Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with automotive standards (ISO 26262, ECE R48) and internal corporate guidelines.
• Support budgeting for tooling, prototyping, and laboratory testing.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or master's in mechanical/Optical Engineering.
• 7-10 years' experience in automotive component design, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in CAD (CATIA/Siemens NX) and simulation tools (Ansys, Lighting Simulation).
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with PLM/ERP systems and change management processes.
• Experience in an automotive lamp design company is preferred.
